Had to work some magic on the tank today. Just couldn't ride a ratty lookin bike without putting some pinstriping on it.

DUDE! Did you do that? efin SWEET!
I have ALWAYS wanted to learn how to use a dagger brush.
Long story short, back in the early '80s I worked at a M-Benz dealership as a lube boy just out of Tech school. They had an Old Hippy Dude that would come in with a breifcase full of babyfood jars full of paints and a stool. He would hand pinstripe the new cars for GOOD money. He approached me on learning the trade because he was ready to step down... Like a moron, I didn't accept his offer.Last edited by Guest; 09-11-2011, 05:16 PM.

Thanks, Yeah I do pinstriping at the shop I work at and a little on the side too. I love to do it. It was frustrating at the start because I wanted it to be perfect right off. It took a lot of practice and starting over. But mainly it just takes practice, and you get the feel how you like it. Palleting the brush is key. Just have to find that right consistency that works well for you. Should give it a try someday.

Awesome work! I especially like the two blue panels in front of the fireplace... so symetrical!
So, I guess you know who this is....
The eyeball is a clue.. LOL

Your build's looking GOOD man!!
I see what you mean about the lowered back end.
On the subject of building a seat... Someone posted this link on another thread here somewhere, I found it VERY informative...

Side panels are some metal of some sort I used to build a Grill for my Tundra. Had some left over so thats where it went.

Well I guess this is why I wasn't sure where this build would go. First I thought I wanted a bobber. Its fun to ride and gets lots of looks and comments, But I'm tired of dragging the exhaust on the corners so Im transforming this into something a little more corner friendly.
Cant wait for winter now. Its real close so Im just taking in the last few days riding while I can, but after that, time for a tear down.
Parts pile...

This morning it looked like this as I parked it in the shop for the winter. I couldn't hold out any longer not working on it.
Teardown
I love zip cut discs and grinders. My favorite tool.
83 gs750 E swingarm (wanted a monoshock setup)
A little fine tuning with some spacers but not a whole lot of work really. Had the wheel in there.
And here is how I left it for the day.
And if the subframe was still on this is how much the back end got lifted...
