Have the exhaust all tacked together enough now to pull it off and finish welding and clean it up. Also did some stripping tonight so no more red tank. Did some tinkering with electronics as well to find mounting locations for some of them.

Agreed it does looks the business! Are you gonna run pods on it? I think they would really add to the minimalistic look. I dig it.

I do want to run pods cuz I like the look. But will probably stick with the stock air box until I get good pods and a jet kit.

Makes sense to me. Are you planning on running without a front fender or fork brace? Or is it just off for stripping? I know with some of these older fork designs the fender acts as a brace tying the legs together at the wheel and prevents them from twisting. Food for thought.

Yeah i will atleast run the brace for the fender but probably a small fender as well. Its just off temporarily.

Thought Id take some shots of my muffler build on the cheap...

Started with a pair of Kawasaki mufflers from a cruiser bike we swapped pipes on for a customer. Cut them up in several pieces. then put it back together with what I wanted.
Just need to weld up the outside between the inner and outer pipes.

haha, yeah if I make my own rear sets I'll go with them, but my buddy has some from a gsxr that I will hopefully be getting from him.

The cans look great. Any pics of the headers / mid pipes yet? From the looks of it, the headers are gonna run under the bike and then split? As opposed to running on the sides.

Are you fabbing all that piping yourself too?

                    Comment

The middle two headers are stock right down to the stock H Pipe. Then a piece of pipe from that straight back then bent to head out to the can. The outer two headers were lengthened by a couple inches and turned inward and connect to the middle headers in a Y at the bottom bend. I wanted to run it close to the center for cornering purposes. Didn't want something low and wide to drag like before. Although the bike sits a fair bit higher now I may lower it down a bit someday.

I'll take a pic of it when I pull it off for welding.

Man, I love the look of those dual upswept cans, looks mean! Excellent work on the build by the way, it's definitely gonna be an awesome finished product.

Sweet. Now I see what you did. It looks good. I like how it tucks under the bike, but still allows you access to the drain plug and filter cover for oil changes. Nice work

Yes drain plug and filter were a concern.

Did a little work tonight mounting electrical stuff. Welded some bolts in place to the undertail piece. Also removed everything besides motor mounts for taking the engine out. That will be next evening someone else is around to give me a hand.
