    my 79 gs1000L project

Well I picked up a new project a week days ago. Got it from the original owner. It's a 1979 suzuki gs1000l, has 28k miles. Long story short, been sitting in storage since 1986, which was the last time it had run. I'll be stripping it down to bare bones cafe style, doing vance and hines drag exhaust, cone filters, jet kit, clip ons, etc.......
first time out of the shed in 25 years

    headed home

crash bars, sissy bar, windshield off

here's the direction I'm going with it...

for ****s and giggles I bought a new battery, dumped some fuel in it. didnt check plugs, carbs, anything.....

stripped down and cleaned up. turns out the surface rust and crap all over the bike came right off with minimal effort, looks new!!

took the front signals off and threw the mirrors in their location

took this bs out from between the gauges and remounted the tach and speedo down lower

cut 8" off the rear frame and remounted the rear fender

dropped the front down 2 1/2'

    how she's sitting for today

bought this brand new vance and hines system

clip ons, they will be mounted straighter, i just zip tied them on as mock up until I cut the stock mounts off....

Are you going to keep the L forks or swap to the E style?
It would move the legs forward 1" and give you a little more tank clearence with the clip on bars.
