i do beleive seafoam is actualy a more aggreassive cleaner than the small percentage of ethanol in gas, i actually used a can of it shortly after re-lining the fuel tank... honestly, you bringing that up made me realize that THATS probally what made my liner start to dissolve, and then constantly being wet with gas it probally never re-cured, just kept dissolving...

im not knocking seafoam by the way, that stuff is great... just dont put it in any modern engines... or in lined gas tanks...

i put some in my E46 3 series and it killed the oil sensor, now my oil light comes on and off all the time (daily)... didnt really damage anything beside the sensor though... rather annoying...

I've used POR-15 without a problem, hard as a rock. I feel your pain though my friend, lining tanks and working on carb's in a major amount of time. It's going to be a chore getting that old liner out of there but it can be done. Lots of good tips on how to on here. Curious though, why does that tank look not like the original for the 82 1100. Didn't those have an indent on them?
