      Here's the pic....

The cables attach in both of those holes....
I also looked at it closer and the cables work opposite of each other....one pushes and one pulls when you twist the throttle....

Think of it as a redundant safety system, There is the cable to open it, there is also a spring to snap it shut. If the spring breaks you are in all sorts of trouble if there isn't a return cable to close her back up again.

After I hooked the brakelight up I tried the lights and they worked.....I tried the back brakelight and everything went out.....now nothing works...I tried a new main fuse.....no luck......any ideas what happened.......

Did you check the other fuses? Is it just the lights that are dead?.

Okay, looks like I misspoke and you only have the one fuse. Have you tested that fuse with a power light or multimeter to ensure it's still good?

It can blow under the metal caps.

Check every connection and look at your ignition switch too.

Ok.....I had to stop soon after that happened but I will look into that....I tried a new fuse.......why would running the rear brakelight do that though

Stranger things have happened. Either way, I would still look over every connection and make sure they are all pretty well cleaned up.

Well upon closer look I found the problem......it was the main fuse.....there is power to but not through.....and the one end is corroded a little so I think that's the issue......so ill be replacing it with a regular style fuse soon........thanks for The help.....

Good call, exactly what I was going to suggest

Those glass style fuses and holders are just too dodgy, especially the 30 year old variety...

Well last night I got my my new fuse holder put in...everything works great now...

Also cleaned the carbs and replaced orings......the choke plunger on the right carb was stuck tight......

Also got the new master cylinder bled out and its working fine now.......

That fuse holder looks pretty much the same as mine, definitely a good upgrade over the dodgy glass stock one

Did you actually dismantle and dip/soak the carbs to clean them? You may find you still have old fuel varnish in the passages if you didn't... not sure what state they were in to start with though.

New O rings is good though either way!
