I might as well continue this thread after finding it again.
Yesterday, I started on Operation "BLING."
Before...
After...
Today I worked a little on the other side.
Before...
After...
Good thing that I didn't sell the left exhaust heat shield under the peg as I installed it on this bike today.
It was missing when I bought it.
The shift cover has already been polished up by the gentleman that traded for my '80 850G.
I just need to pick it up sometime.
SUPER Steve, on this forum of valve shim spread sheet fame, is going to polish a couple of carb covers and float bowls for me next month.
A few more bolts here and there will be replaced with shiny Allen heads in the near future also.

After having a terrible morning dealing with the morons that have infested this planet,
it was nice to kick back and make a few small improvements to this scooter instead.
Although it ran well after getting it back on the road back when, these coils and these loose clear and red silicone affixed coil wires left a lot to be desired.
After cleaning up these used coils and spacers, I thought that I might as well affix them with some nice new Allen head bolts also.
The new ugly gray Dynatek coil wires also left something to be desired so I decided to coat them with some blue heat shrink tubing.
Although not as dark blue as I wanted, the other option would have been to try vinyl spray paint.
I wasn't to sure how that would last on plug wires so the heat shrink won out.
Apparently 4 feet of heat shrink tubing is not enough to do 4 wires so I will have to get another 4 foot section Monday.
At least the light blue wires will look a little better than the hideous gray wires.

I rode one of the '79's about 60 miles round trip to pick this C/S cover up from the gentleman that bought/traded my '80 850G.
He offered to polish up one of my ugly/nasty corroded covers in trade for a '79 E tail piece to use on one of his KZ13000's.
Didn't get home until almost midnight.
I will try to get it installed today on this '78 "Bling" bike after shipping a bunch of stuff out to several other GSR members.
It didn't seem to like the flash in the first pic.
Not chrome like the other bits but, it will do for me.

Not quite as nice as the chrome parts but, good enough for me and project "Bling".
Little by little, I am getting there.

Very nice Eric! I never got my 450 cases anywhere near as shiny as that... maybe I should pull 'em off and do 'em again?
Oh wait, no, that would mean not riding while I did it... scratch that I'll have to just stare at yours instead1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Good Times
You have the GS (great shine) sickness.
Take 2 tablespoons of Mothers Mag Polish and call me in the morning.
Nice work Eric.

Thanks to Steve, our resident valve shim spread sheet guru, I just got some more bling to add to the project today!
Now the Kawacker 32CV carbs are going to sparkle also.
