The bike looks great. Except for that hugely tall rear tire. Is there enough room so it wont hit the body under compression?
Also have you run into any wonky handling from the mismatched front and back tires?
I'd look into modding the swinger and rear wheel to match the front. It'll look better and you can run a modern tire on the back as well.

Other than the stock back tire I like your bike.

Why do people always take the front fenders off cafe bikes? I took the front fender off my ZX9 once (for painting) and got caught out in the rain. Miserable stuff. Even when the rain had stopped the front wheel was still spitting crap up in the air that I then rode into....

Well the bike looks great. The USD front end is the way to go.

There are no issues with running different tires front and rear like that. I did it for a while before i upgraded my rear tire and I don't think it really made a difference. I just upgraded purely for looks did for looks.

Not to mention upgrading the rear is not an easy endeavor, depending on how you do it.

The front fender would be nice to stop crap from flying in your face, but once again unless you want to run the fender that comes with that specific front end, then you have to fab one to fit. Another endeavor that could take some time depending on how you do it.

Rear shocks, who gives a crap what shocks he runs, as long as they look good and hold the rear end of his bike of the ground, then run them. It would be different if he was making this to be a track bike. Once again money, time , fab all go into makeing things fit on a build.

Personally i think the bike is bad ass, and keep building it the way you want becuase at the end of the day it is your bike.

I will soon be adding a small flyscreen supplied by Eriki and a front fender off of a CBR954RR. I really don't mind crap getting on me, I wear a full face helmet and a heavy leather jacket, so nothing really gets on me anyways.


Thanks for the backup Basso, and in the near future I would love to do a swing arm swap with new shocks and a smaller rear tire, but for now I'm just gonna ride the **** out of it. As far as handling goes, the steering is definitely quicker, but thats how I like it .

Got the jet kit in and fine tuned tonight. Took it for about half an hour shakedown run... Holy **** this thing FLIES! And stops in a hurry too. Seriously, the front brakes are insane. Got my Shinkos installed the other day and they look great and seem to handle good so far, although I'm still in the break in period.

With everything I've done, and now out riding it, I realize I think I might have made an 80's supersport .

Rode for about three hours today. Really loving how the bike is set up. Only a few odds and ends to tie up now... (license bracket, get fender and flyscreen mounted, paint)

I really like what you have done with it.

If I had to look at it with a supercritical eye, then for my tastes I'd try to do something about that brake reservoir and the rearsets. Although functional they both look slightly out of place in these photos with the lines and colours. They might look different in person.

For the rearsets, it's just the guide/protection piece sticking up that throws it off for me. Maybe you could get it to blend in by painting that part of it black? Of course, nobody is going to see it when you are riding, it's just the standing there looking good part being affected (to my eye).

Do you have any plans to move the battery up into the tail cowling?
