Does anyone know how long it takes spark plugs to turn a particular color? 1 mile 5 miles 100 miles?
I believe it depends on how much air/fuel is getting burnt by it. At small throttle openings it will take a while, at large throttle openings it won't take long. I'm not sure how that would translate to miles/time though...

And well done on sorting that air leak too, that will help immensely!

Thanks! I hope it will solve my issues. And I did varify that I did fix it. But it still seems like it takes a longer time than it should for the RPM's to drop after letting off the throttle. But I will not know until I take it for a ride.

Is your idle set to high maybe?

I had that issue when I went to ride her to get registered. I had to pull over a couple of hundred metres up the road and wind the idle back as I hadn't let her warm up enough previously to realise I had the idle screw in way too far.

It was at 1/4 turn. But its at 1 1/4 now. We will see. And does the screw limit air? out more air in less air?

The idle screw you mean? It just opens the throttle butterflies a touch, so increases both air and fuel by creating more vacuum... at least I believe that's how it works...

I think I got the idle issue all figured out. I was able to borrow a carb synch tool a digital one too! And the carbs are all synched. They where a little off. Much smother idle now.

Makes a difference doesn't it? Definitely found improvements when I sync'd mine. Can't wait to get my jetting sorted though, then sync again and I reckon I'll be laughin'.

Its much better for sure. I think I have a occasionally stuck carb CV slide though. ;/

That won't be helping... what makes you think that? Worst case I guess is a bit of a split in a diaphragm...

I powder coated a bolt tonight. I actually dropped it and it didn't chip. And it started with out the choke. Just really low RPM's I had to rev it to keep it alive. Anyway here are the pics. Before and after.

I powder coated my passenger pegs and side stand. I also fixed the hole in the bottom of the kick stand. I used a stick welder to fill it up then finished it with the tig and a grinder.

Here is how the pegs look on the bike.

Tonight I worked on the pegs. I got them all stripped down and powder coated them.
