    I didn't read the entire thread, but jumped to the last page, so if I ask a dumb question, let me apologize in advance....here's the dumb question...are those oem shocks your re-installing on your bike? why?

      No good reason. Just didn't know that replacing them with aftermarket was a good idea until after I had them all cleaned up and the springs powder coated. I've been riding on them thus far with no complaints.

          Stripping all of the paint off the wheels has proven to be quite the challenge. I've been rotating soda blasting and using ACP remover. You would think it would come of pretty easy, but some of that stuff is really stubborn. I'll get it though!!!

            That's why I did a nice light scrub, and painted right over what was left....

            I took the easy way out, and I wasn't changing the colour..

              I'm about ready to do the same. I've got 98% of the paint off. If I did get it clean I'd be tempted to soda blast the inside, polish the lip and clear cost the whole thing. Don't think I'm going to get it that clean though.

                What only 2% left to do and your going to give up...hey that' not the GT I know...

                If it's getting to you, leave it for a day or 2 and work on something else, get your mind off the rims for a bit, and go back at them fresh....

                  That 2% is hanging on like the last Spartan and if it's not going to affect the paint job then I'm good with it. If I can't blast it off and the paint remover isn't budging it then what's a little primer and paint going to do to it other than dress it up and make it look goooooood. lol

                      Welcome back to work GT. it's tough during the summer months no? That's why so many of these things are "winter" projects no? Anyway, wheels are looking great. Keep plugging away!

                              Thanks Ray and fellas. Had to take the last month to get some significant "honey do's" accomplished. My build literally got buried in the garage behind all the other "stuff." I couldn't get to it even if I had time to work on it. Spring sprung and kicked my tail for a little bit on the bike build. It's all good stuff though. Pretty cool when you have too much good stuff to do that you don't have time for it all.

                              Now that I've worked my way back to the bike, I'm back at it. Wiring harness is next. Have to order some more wire from RIWC. Pick up some more connectors and get it buttoned up. I'll probably polish up the lower legs next and get them ready to go back on.

                              It's good to be back.

                                GT, I am new to the forum and stumbled on your thread while looking for rebuild inspiration (I am considering picking up a project bike) and I have to say your thread has certainly delivered!

                                Do you have any more pictures of the wheels between "before" and "after"?
