Dropped off my bits to my engineer mate today... Had to offer him some pretty tweaked man on man sexual favors in order to get my stuff done by tomorrow afternoon:-) its gonna scar me for life, but will be totally worth it!!!!!!!!!!!

On a more serious note: it would appear that the swingarm bolt on my gsx is 14mm, whereas katanas are 16mm, lucky I checked as I assumed they would be the same.. Only idiots assume!!!

I'm pretty sure it'd either rub in the front inside of the swingarm, and you'd probably have to bore the axle slots in the swingarm for the Katana axle to fit.

This is a ghetto mock up with the swing arm and forks in place ( thanks to Manu for the awesome engineering work on rear pivot and steerer tube)

Bike is totally stripped down now and the hard work begins......

Maybe it is me but it looks like that pipe would drag. You would at least need to go slow over speed bumbs...lol.

Or really fast so the speed bump becomes a jump.
The forks are sitting too low in the clamps, and the new engine has a longer stroke and better undercarriage clearance for the exhaust. I do want the pipe close to the ground cause it looks sick.
As the bike was before it had about 100mm of exhaust clearance, which was fine so long as I didnt ride off kerbs.

Cut the top and bottom shock mounts out of the bandit frame and got them tacked into the gsx frame. Still a long way to go... Have to weld them in and start doing some serious bracing!
I thought I was being pretty careful with my measuring, but when I put the swing arm in it wasn't sitting at the right angle ( was at about 5degrees, on the bandit it sits at about 8.5 degrees) did a ghetto modification to the dogbone link in the meantime to get it at the right angle. Will make some new dogbone links once I get the engine in and am happy with all the angles etc.





Phew....... I need heaps of beer now.

Cheers for all the positive comments :-) .Today I didn't have much time, but managed to get all the welding finished on the top and bottom shock mounts.
My next step is to get the motor in and set up so I can make the engine mounts, I have a whole bunch of bracing that I want to do, but will wait till the engine is in to make sure I don't have clearance issues.
