Please tell me you didn't get an OEM one... Must have cost a fortune!
Did you survive those storms yesterday?
My dad lives in Dayton and said those were some pretty heavy storms and power was out for a while.
Any other updates on your electric goodies?

It is an oem fuelcock. Cost $70 and came with the gasket.
Yeah the storms were pretty nasty but got through okay
I did check the charging system. At idle 14.25v at higher rpm 13.99v. The battery was probably hurt but hasn't acted up, the ignition system seems to have survived so I'm happy about that.

Glad to hear it about the storms. Apparently we had the same one come through VA late last night, but I was sawing logs apparently haha.

I don't get it... I didn't change anything just installed the new regulator. I checked the ground connection to the regulator and made sure the stator wasn't grounded. I checked the manual and measure the resistance between the 3 stator wires. The manual did not give me any resistance values but I measured about 1 ohm between each of the 3 wires. I don't know if that means my stator has a problem or not...
I just couldn't take it I had to go for a ride and she rides better than ever! There is a short video of her running... idle and rev gs300l

Was your V equal between all three legs?
Good sounding bike! I just uploaded some vids on my thread too!
Glad to see shes running!

Stator papers will help...

I have to admit I went back and listened to that video with a decent set of headphones and that sounds really nice. A lot tighter sounding than mine.
Good work. Glad you got your stuff.
We should meet up for a ride except I don't think 300s would do too well through the PA mountains ha ha.

I'm not sure if the 300 is the same as the 450, but on the 450 the stator should output 75VAC or higher across each of the three legs, 1-2, 2-3, 1-3. The 425 is apparently only 65VAC so I'm guessing the 300 may be around that same point...
Listened to the video, and yeah she sounds good, two 300's going well! Nice1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I measured the output of the stator. It measured about 77 volt ac across the wires I tried to hold it at 5000 rpm since I do not have a tach. I tried a few other things the ground wire that was on the stator I moved it to a ground point near it, and then I replaced the phillips screws with hex bolts. I've then cleaned the crap out of the connectors. I am now measuring about 12.7 volts at idle and 14.5 volts when I rev it up.
I fit some saddle bags I had for another bike. I had to relocate the turn signals back. I ended up using the brackets that came with the mufflers I bought.

77 @ 5000? Nice. I didn't any where near that high.
Looking good man. Wish I had some place to store stuff.
You get to ride at all today with those storms again? I swear it just won't let up over there.

I did yesterday and around the block today to warm it up before testing. I didn't want to rag on a cold engine

Nice, that voltage sounds far more promising! The grounds make a huge difference when they're done right.
Nice job on the bags too. I got some soft panniers for mine and it makes it so much easier carrying crap to work and back.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie
