I may be the few that use a helmet lock but it is convenient not to have to carry the helmet everywhere I go.

I need to figure out what to do with the helmet lock now it's hidden behind the left bag

I still haven't put mine back on after the rebuild, it's stiff and needs some attention.
It'll also be hidden behind the right bag on mine, but I've never used it before either...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I've contemplated making some hard bags out of fibreglass to work with my pipe etc. but it just seems too much like hard work at the moment... sick of fiddling with the 450 and I just wanna ride.
The Ducati is to keep my fiddling interests occupied...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I decided to take the saddle bags back off. Also did a Carb sync and adjustment as well as adjusting the clutch. I'm hoping to ride tomorrow. Let's see if the weather holds out...

Cool, carb sync is good! Don't forget to revisit your mixture screws now they're in sync...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Nothing. Took less than 10 seconds to adjust the sync. I found the bike likes 2 turns out on the mixture screws.

Woah, hold up... are you talking carb sync or mixture screw adjustment?

I use a whipper snipper fuel tank suspended from a hook in the roof of the garage.
First I make sure the bowls are full then pull off the tank. I have to loosen the lock nut first because the choke rod is in the way then I fire up the engine and use the screwdriver to adjust the sync. After that I just shut down, tighten the nut and fire back up to verify the setting hasn't moved.
The mixture screw adjustment can be done with the tank on.
