The wheels with all the paint stripped off. I was going to paint them all black but i kind of like them bare aluminum. I did a few other things today also...I reinstalled the center stand, but wasn't able to pull the spring into place, wow.....that's a tight spring. Think I'll have to wait until i get the engine back in so there's some weight there. Think I've decided that I'm not going to use the stock headlight mounts. I found a few of the type that just clamp around the forks. Also, had a bike come in for state inspection that had a double headlight and i really liked it, Was very similar to this on flea-bay

Pull the stand back off. Put the spring on first and then the bolts. Can't stretch that spring alone. This is the voice of experience. Once it's on the stand you can pull the stand enough to stretch the springs and get the bolts in. Tricky.....
Have fun.

I have no idea which band they are! Sorry! I got them from http://www.dimecitycycles.com/
I absolutely love them and they are extremely comfy on my GS1100G. BTW the speedo glows a bright white via LEDs and looks wonderful.

Didn't do a lot this weekend. I did however return the Yamaha shims to the Suzuki dealer.... and ordered the shims that i needed from Z1. I also picked up my swing-arm pivot sleeves from the dealer and installed the new swing-arm bearings.

Engine is all buttoned up. Got my valve shims from Z1 on Tuesday and installed them and made a new valve cover gaskets. These next 3 pictures are of the engine after being degreased and acid washed, (i paint stripped the two side covers and will probably just paint the letters in black). The side covers I'll be polishing also. I'm really happy with the way everything cleaned up, I was going to paint the engine but it cleaned well enough that I'm going to leave it as is.

If things go well tomorrow, I am planning on installing the engine in the frame sometime over the course of the day(will depend on if i can get the engine mounts painted)
