Idle issue with Video!
I have a 81 GS450 L. CV carbs. It will get "Stuck" around 3 K then after 10 seconds it dips to 2 K but will not return back to 1,100 unless I blip the throttle a little bit. I have messed with the idle screws no difference. And I did check for air leaks. But I am pretty sure there is none because it idles at 1,100 just fine. I did also swap the CV slides. Here is a link to the vid I took tonight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s37UB9_RWoY Thanks!Tags: None

Where are the mixture screws set? Did you sync the carbs yet? These items were mentioned in your last thread but I didn't see your response. It's best to stay with one thread instead of starting several on the same topic, that way we know what's been done already.Ed

Alright, sorry about that. But yes they are synched. The screws are at 1 1/4 right now I did turn them out 1 turn and it makes no difference.

Could be air leak then. Did you replace the intake boot O-rings? Spraying stuff around the boots is an unreliable to check for leaks in case you've tried that. Also, make sure to ride the bike and then judge the carbs tuning. Blipping the throttle on a cold engine is not the best way.Ed

You should be able to see it.
Look for a break in the spring. That would cause it to load up and maybe bind then release.

I will check. Could I move the throttle a few times and try to push the part the cable connects to down?

I am assuming your spring is a winding around the throttle shaft.
I was alos thinking of an old snowmobile carb and my bike.
I do not really know what the springs on yors would look like.
