Aren't those holes supposed to be drilled at an angle?
What do the guys that use those kits all the time, or recommend them all of the time, say about the drilling?

I used the Dupli-Color bumper and trim paint, the VHT was just a quick pic I found on the net.

I think it's all very similar

And don't be going asking questions like that AFTER we've drilled the holes....kidding. Don't worry Trevor I'm sure we did things right...pretty sure.....well kinda sure, and what the heck do I care anyways, it's not my bike!!

Carbs are back together (thanks AZR) with a stage 3 dyno and did a little polishing with my newly bolted down grinder . Really enjoying doing this. I have never done anything like this before but thanks to Rob's (AZR) and GSR guidence I'm feeling confident this is gonna come out alright.

Thanks Gatekeeper!Yeah I am pleased with how they look too. I'm almost and I say almost am embarrassed, to tell you how much. They were $7.88 ea. from our good friends at Z1 Enterprises. The K&N ones were gonna cost me around $32.00 each. I know I know they are for life and much better quality too, but I'm trying to keep a low budget going here to get it back on the road then I will see where I wanna drop $$ on it. I have a goal of getting this bike in nice shape for under $1000. including what I paid for the bike.

                              sweet......

if you keep on buying the cheap stuff , you will be under your 1000 bucks for sure......just kidding.....the bike is looking great....

I should have ordered a set way back when I put my first order to Z1 for some other things, I just wasn't thinking back then, and all the horror stories of pods and such, but maybe I will do something once our riding season is over....

Still pecking away...things like this don't happen overnight do they? I have a new found respect for the people who have done full resto's as mine is not fram off by any means and it's still a lot of work.
So here is what I got done tonight...
After seeing the results of polishing my carb caps I decided I needed to do the bowls too

also did the can on my pipe... before and after pics

                                after

then I did a little touch up on the frame
                                before

                                after

Also went through my wiring tonight and cleaned it up. Next I wanna tackle my rims.
