Trevor, did I read that right that you used the bumper paint on that mirror that turned out so great?

You just reminded me there is another trick on improving the plastic appearance without paint. Use a heat gun and uniformly wave it across the plastic. It will semi-re flow the plastic and give it a semi-gloss sheen like when it was new. It will not take out deep scratches but works well on sun dried plastic. And since you are not putting anything on top it is basically like new (close)

There was a video of a guy doing this on the web a while back. I have done it and it works.

It is easy and it doesn't happen all of a sudden. Try it on any old plastic you have. I have done mirrors and with heat on the glass side as the plastic was dried out close to the glass.

You will be able to see the change in surface.

This is what they looked like when I picked the bike up...

I couldn't get these lines off the lense until I used this stuff..very good.

For touch up on the needles..

Trevor, make room for a large box filled with gauges headed your way.

Nice work on the gauges Trevor !! I'll be having a go at mine when I get a new/used mounting case. And I'll be sure to pick up some of that Novus scratch remover. They came out great !

                    Beautiful job.....

With the large can of fluorescent paint you will be able to do thousands of needles...LOL

Eric start sending them his way.....

Those gauges came out really nice. Maybe someday you could put together a step by step and make it a sticky, as the process would be similar for all gauges assuming the lenses come out.

Got at my tail light and surrounding rubber moulding. They were a little rough, so I used my nova scratch remover on the plastic and back to black on the moulding. Came out pretty good.

Rob came over to help me (really he did it) get the wiring harness back on today. I kind of played hookie from work. Got the fairing brace on and the rear fender and other little bits. Now I have to go out tomorrow to find some replacements nuts and bolts etc. Slowly but surely...

                            My dog Oreo, helping out..

I know it's not that exciting yet but to me it is.... Thanks again Rob!
