    My 1150 clean up/rebuild

Hey guys, thought I would post some pics of my 1150 project. Rob (AZR) came over to help me (thank goodness) start stripping the bike and see what she is gonna need. I have a line on a new/used airbox and the missing gas tank trim. Needs a lot of spit and polish, gonna get the pipes sandblasted and painted. Thank again Rob. Kinda of cool fact is that if it wasn't for GSR I would not have met someone who is turning out to be a very good friend!

Forget the airbox Trevor. You gotta go pods!

What are you going to do with that sweet aluminum airbox contraption?

Haha... well that's what I'm gonna do. Just discovered the PO didn't rejet for the 4 to 1 so I don't have a stock airbox so pods and stage 3 it is! Just what I need...more performance!

If the Dyno jets are not at least 154 (Dynojet #),
You should probably pick up a set of 145, 147.5 and 150 main jets from Z1

                      Dynojet 154=145 Mikuni

Went for a ride on my 750 today then did a few things on the 1150. I am a real rookie at this so I have been wondering if I'm over my head here. So I'm going to take it slow and ask some questions I'm sure. Luckily I have Rob (AZR) helping me. Today I took my battery box out which was very rusted and sanded and painted it. I like doing this stuff! And I worked on getting the carbs sorted. Also pulled the end caps off the bars and sanded them up ready to paint. I'm learning as I go.

Just improve every part that you touch and the entire bike will be improved.
Clean, sand and paint one at a time if you have to. Every step forward is a step closer to the finish line.
Every time that I remove a bolt for any reason, I use a fine wire wheel to make it as close to new as possible and apply anti-seize or lock-tite, depending on use, before re-installation.
Before you know it, it is a new bike!

Thanks for the encouragement Eric! I got a bench grinder given to me from AZR and I went out and got a wire wheel for it today. Rob told me the same thing... everytime you touch something... make it better! I have been cleaning bolts etc. Really therapeutic work!!
