It was very satisfying to finaly make some smoke and some roaring noises and having the tachometer needle move all at the same time!
The fuel tank has been cleaned out and sealed inside. It has been repainted and striped and has a new petcock attached to the bottom. The valves have all been adjusted to specs. The valve adjustment required one size thinner shim at each lifter. The main electrical harness has been replaced as well as the igniter, starter solenoid, both ignition coils, spark plugs, and lots of light bulbs. Two new tires have been mounted on the rims with new valve stems. The rear brakes got cleaned and adjusted. The front brake pads got replaced and the fluid replaced. The clutch has been adjusted. The fork oil has been changed. Rear swingarm disasembled, greased and reinstalled. All the handlebar switches have been disassembled, cleaned, lubed with electrical grease and reinstalled. The airbox has been removed and K and N filters installed. New intakes and new intake O rings installed. Two sets of twin carbs have been dipped and rebuilt.
It's time to get a registration and insurance and then do some plug chops!!!
There are a still a couple items left on the to do list: Add a small fusebox, three relays, wire the voltage regulator and test the charging system, replace the old front hydraulic rubber hose with a new SS brake line, fork seals, gear indicator lamps to LED's, dual horns.....
Wanna see some pics? I'll start posting some soon....
