My GS1100EZ Finished (for this year :) )

Hi all and a big Thank You to all the members that have helped me

I started this project ~ May 2011. I had the bike in storage for 10+ years so it was in need of some serious maintenance. So, this is what has been done:

    Complete valve job
    honed cylinders w/ new rings
    rebuilt master cylinders front/rear
rebuilt calipers front/rear and new pads
    stainless braided brake lines
rebuilt carbs with new dyno jet kit
    New K&N Pods
    new wheel bearings
    stainless steel exhaust studs
lubed triple bearings and swing arm bearings
    new clutch springs
    new motobatt battery
    New Mirrors
rebuilt front fork including new progressive springs
    new rear progressive shocks
    Por 15 tank liner
    new petcock
Avon Road riders and new tubes
    New handlebars
    many new rubber parts
    530 conversion
Wolo bad boy horn w/ relay
    new plug wires/caps
    relay coil mod
head light coil mod -- still working out a solution for the head light warning light
    New Ricks Stator
    New Compufire regulator
Rechrome - stator cover and chain cover
    LED volt meter
    Accessory socket for my GPS
    lubed cables
lots of cleaning, painting and polishing .....

I plan on new stickers after I repaint next winter. I'm leaning towards shooting it myself. I'm sure I will be asking a few questions

There is a ding in the tank that happened while it was stored and a few edges are flaking. Looks great in the pics but when you get up close you can see it.

        oh and Thanks

That is a fine looking machine. Usually not really big on chrome covers but I must say yours looks REALLY good. Damn fine job; good luck with the paint. What kind of seat is that?

The original owner did all the chrome, I believe he had the dealer do it when he bought the bike. My father bought it from him in 85 and I bought it from my father in 91.

It's a Mustang seat, the company is located in Terryville CT and is still in business (http://www.mustangseats.com/Contact-Us) . I don't believe they carry that model anymore as my father bought it some time in the 80's. Give them a call and ask, I gave them a call a few months back asking them how best to repair a small rip (~ 1/4 inch) and they were very nice to deal with.

That is a GREAT looking bike, but that seat really caught my eye. I love the way it looks. I have a different Bike but when/if i get my seat redone it will definitely be in that style with the buttons (or whatever they are called)
