Well. I rode down to Dayton, NV today to check out yet another scooter.
(I took the '81 GS1100EX)

Yep, I am a sucker for a pretty face.
The butt looks like it belongs on Beyonce though.

For the owner,
I will be doing him a great favor and
I will be getting a very low mileage original unmolested bike.

Only rated at about 135 HP and 100 pounds of torque though.
Sometimes you just got to make do with less...

Nice, Id like to pick up a 900, Really like my 600 for the time being. I agree the tail was the first to go, along with some other stuff though too. If you need any replacement plastic stuff I might be able to help, that is if 600 stuff fits to the 900. They look pretty similar style wise.

The tail plastic is from cbr 600rr 05-06ish. It took some minor modification. my bike had a two piece seat so I made that work with the tail. I think that is a difference with the 600 and 900's seem to have a one piece seat.

Subframe cut. section out of top bar, pie cut bottom bar to angle upwards.

Seats on to find correct angle I liked. I did have to modify the seats just a hair. took covers off and trimmed plastic and foam just on some edges to make it fit tighter to plastics.


Welded up bottom. Shorten top sections that got removed to make them fit again. Would be ideal to sleeve all the joints. I didn't. in the near future I plan to make a whole new subframe from scratch to look better with no jointed angle in the lower bar.


weld in top bars, Oh yeah and somewhere in there I had to do some minor trimming off the back end so it didn't stick out the back of the tail.


I did have to cut and move the latching points for the seats back a little bit and lower the cross bar that the rear seat slid into. Basically right now the front of the tail is bolted to the two bolts that the bracket is bolted to that the tank bolts to. and the rear seat locks down the rear of the tail. The tail plastic also had to have a section cut out of the middle under the driver seat for the seat to latch into its lock. You will also have to relocate the coolant overflow and the seat lock key position.
