Jetting is both an art and science.

145's are pretty big even with pods and 4 into 1.

    They may run rich.

Those look like Racing Dynamics jets. A PO put the same brand but 170's in my carbs. WAY to big. Way to rich.

I replaced mine with a DynoJet Kit. They run great.

That's what I am thinking. But, for now it will be fine until I start tuning the carbs. I will see if any of the other jets are changed as well. I will see how it runs, but I need to get a few more things in order before I even fire it up

        Work work work work

So I finally got around to installing the new Nissin adjustable master cylinder I got for my bike and bled the front/rear. New fluid and front MC= front brakes work now!! I also did a little mocking and measuring for my seatpan, rear fender, etc. I did also try to get the intake boots off the head, but only came out with one So, I sprayed some PB on the screws before I left and will be going back tomorrow.

Just throwing this out there does anyone have a left hand cover for my bike? The PO didn't have it

I did find out though that I will definitely be doing some soldering this week since a wire (More specifically the blue/white going from RR to Generator) was repaired, but came apart. Also, I WAS going to test my starter button but the terminal ring that hooks onto the starter relay just snapped off... Oh well, I have been meaning to replace all the rings with new ones anyhow since they are all badly corroded. Crimps, shrinkwrap, solder, and wires are all in my near future.

Here are some pictures for ya

That last title to your post is spot on, lots of work to do. The bike looks like it was rode hard and put away wet. Hardly any area that doesn't need some TLC. You're fortunate that the PO did not cut up the rear of the frame for that seat. It kinda looks like a track bike but I'm not sure why someone would use a shaft drive for that, but then again I would not ride around on a seat that looks to be attached with hope. To each his own I guess.

This will make the ultimate Father's Day gift.

I think that might have been his idea, but realized a shaft for racing is a terrible idea

To be honest, I may chop the frame simply because I can't find an original seat that isn't completely torn up and terrible since I'm trying very hard to stay on budget . It was, however, no doubt ridden hard. The reason its so rusty is that is was stored within a few miles of the Pacific

How much do you want spend on a seat? Another member on here had one up for less than $100

I think this is the one as he said it was going up on EBay if he couldn't get interest in the forum:

I was gonna say, $50 for shipping? haha definitely not US.

Plus, I assume the reserve is $80 or close to so $100 or so for the seat with shipping? That's a little much for me. I still don't know where I want to go with this... If I find a well priced original seat that I can reupholster for not too much, I'm game. Otherwise, I may cafe it I know the stigma of taking a hacksaw to frames, but it didn't come to me stock so why try to make it stock? Price wise, it may make sense for me to chop off the top locking mechanism from the frame and just get a long fiberglass pan created, relocate the electrics, and maybe even try to locate a left panel if I feel so inclined

But, aesthetics are far from where I am now so, any of this really doesn't make a difference until I am at that point in the build. I just wanna hear her start

Ah. Well, it sold on eBay any-who. I guess I will toy with the idea of making my own seatpan/seat in the future. But for now, BRING IT ON INTAKE BOOTS!

Got the boots off at the cost of one snap-on impact bit. But, have no fear! Snap-On replaces it with warranty. Perks of working at a real garage

Haven't been able to work due to the rain, since she is out covered in the rain

So what do you guys think? If I go all out, I may paint the frame the same color as is on the tank now or close enough.. Or, may just leave it black. I know the seatpan is wayyyy too long, I just did it to cover up the frame/locking mechanism.

A little cleaning, and a little new stuff

Changed the oil/filter (Shell Rotella 40 ), cleaned the cylinder head for intake boots soon to come, tried putting the exhaust back on but the center stand blocks it , fit some new plug caps, and re-mounted the coils with new screws.

I also bought some spade connectors, new ring terminals, etc. for when I solder up the bad wires and new positive(+) ring terminals.

In the middle of cleaning the head!

Re-mounted coils with new screws (Old ones were stripped beyond belief)

New plug boots, fresh wire to the boots, and fit perfectly. Just need new plugs now
