I will be following this one. Very similar to mine. Nice work on the wheels. How long has it taken you so far? What type of cleaning are you going to do to the engine; vapour blast, soda blast etc?
GreetingsRichard

April
Been working on her since April this year, mostly on weekends. I'm find how quickly you can dump money into GS parts though!
I polished the rim first with just a buffing wheel on a drill and compound (wrap the chuck up with tape first though!), mask it off and then painted with Duplicolor Graphite Wheel Paint & Clearcoat.
Working mostly on the engine build now. Planning on bead blasting cases/block/head and cover and then coat with PJ1 Satin Black. Polishing all other covers. Will try and update as progress is made!

Paint
Yea, i want to ride it some once I get her back together. Not going to invest in a good paint job on the tank and plastics yet. The periwinkle will do for now I think. :-)

Deck Height
Zero deck height for a street engine? Or throw in a .005 copper base gasket with RTV for some good measure?

Great start. One note about bead blasting engines. That stuff gets everywhere, cylinder heads are very suseptable to grit. It has habit of getting into places that are very hard to clean, especially oil galley's.Current Rides: 82 GS1100E, 00 Triumph 955 Speed Triple:twistedevil:, 03 Kawasaki ZRX1200, 01 Honda GL1800, '15 Kawasaki 1000 Versys
