the primer is duplicolor gray primer, then the orange is regular omni and the black is omni plus with omni 270 clear and the mh278 hardner. I checked it tonight i will color sand it or wet sand it probably sunday i will get a pic up afterwards. i put six coats of clear on it and that took forever letting each one get dry enough to keep it from running. paint looks deep though with that many coats of clear.

I wet sanded my tank with 1500 wet sand then down to 2000 grit. My buddy had all the stuff to buff and polish it since he is very picky on his car detailing. He offered to polish it for me and I couldn't be happier with inthe result

i uses Omni MH270 with the MH278 hardener it is suppose to be gas safe after it cures. as i understands but we will see. i put six coats of clear on makes the paint look deep. only own fault in the tank is i can see every surface flaw on the body work. that was my first time with body work as well.

very nice man, making me want to do mine now. but I don't want to be without my ride for long enough to do it. looks like you can reach into the paint.

Side covers are coming later I am gonna make them from plexi glass going to etch one side and cover with a a piece of sheet metal painted black. Dril small holes in the plexi for LED lights so when turned on they reflect through the glass onto the etched surface showing the image.

Got it finished!!! Well sorta... I was worried it wouldn't start when I cranked on it first time. But after the carbs filled it fired right up idled at 1500 sounded good digital guages all worked great. Rode it down drive and back **** it off checked for leaks... None... Great longer ride went ten miles and had the clutch to tight kept slipping loosened that up. Man totally different feel from my other bike.. Ride it home and then the trouble started. Just died..... Pushed it into shop and figured I had a bad charge system and needed to charge the battery and was gonna check it. Charged battery wouldn't start. Shook bike didn't sound like I had any gas in it which makes sense I didn't put much in it. So put gas in it crank and crank and crank ( on/off switch housing started smoking) oh boy shorted out which killed my relay for the coil power and starter button. Gotta work out this link but man what a ride!

can't wait to see it! glad she ran for ya! My GS is really the only bike I've ridden aside from a few people letting me ride there bike up the rode and back, but these things have got to be one of the funnest machines to sit on.

Glad to see your project is finished. I really like the outcome! I finished my motor rebuild over the weekend as well, so I know how excited you must be right now. Thanks for sticking with the thread and taking so many pictures of your progress.
