Looking good! I didn't have to replace my drum brake shoes, still plenty of life in them after 30+ years

    And I like the cat...

While waiting for some parts i can't move on with assembly, so i'm working on components.
Today i rebuilt the master brake cylinder,i cleaned and painted the m/c some time ago so it was ready for work.

laid out the rebuild kit according to the assembly order

      Piston installed

After securing the c clip in place all that's left is to install the dust rubber and that's it.

next will be the caliper but i need to paint it first.

Had some free time yesterday so i managed to prep and paint the front brake parts

Fresh and black, ready for the rebuild kit

btw, the brake guy measured the disk and said it's still good

Very nice, what paint did you use for the caliper?

It's suppose to be automotive paint, there's a place that put's it in a spray can for you.
but time will tell if it's durable.

Cool. I used some caliper paint in a can which looked great sprayed on, but when I baked it it started to flake off and the caliper now looks exactly as it did before...

My shift linkage was lousy, actually i had one shifter with the heim attached and the part the sits on the shaft itself had only the ball.
so today grounded the joints from the shifter and arm and i'm going to use "Rod Ends" instead.

I did something similar, but used heim joints from a hobby store instead.

So far they're holding up well.

                            Small update,
Finally got few small parts that took ages to arrive, so i can start putting the bike back together.
I was hoping to finish the front fork and wheel as well, but couldn't get the lower stearing bearing on the shaft no matter what, i'll have to find a machine shop with a press for that.
