    It's been a while

Many weeks without updates, it's not that i haven't done anything. just there isn't to much to show.
i was busy mainly with finishing all the electric stuff, sometime waiting for small parts to arrive. still waiting for a connector and the parts to fix the neutral light.
i also messed with the exhaust and since i cant afford a new system at the moment (shipping big parts over here is a killer) i decide to go the not so popular way of heat wrap, i don't like it too much but it beat's the rusty battered look of the pipes.

Top work, I like it! What's that little mini dash? Very neat...

Wow, looking good! A long time ago I owned a '82 GSS450e, I never should have sold it.

                It's alive!

After a short saga when it did not start. today i got it started - after little over a year.
i got it in "starting" condition but never actually started it so i was very proud that it did start today.
there are still issues, it only runs with the choke 3/4 opened and it sounds quite rough. from some reason the electronic tachometer doesn't work.

Good stuff... although I'm not sure about the tool bag location... will that block too much air for the air cooled motor? I would imagine most cooling comes from lower down but just a thought...

                      Almost there

Well, the bike is all assembled and running.
still need to properly paint the tank, it was just a "home depot" rattle can for testing options and the fuel i spilled messed it good (as expected)
i know it's loud but does it sound like it tuned and working right? never heard one running brfore.

Mate that's awesome, good job! That doesn't sound loud to me, just sounds good

Next time give it some rev's in the video...

I really like how you painted the tank with the lower edge blending in to the seat too, that looks great!

                          Thanks Mate!
the lower edge serves as a visual trick to make the tank look shorter, i think it works

You won't notice anything at idle.
Those carbs have an excellent idle circuit. Even after 10 minutes of idle on mine, the plugs are still nice and tan in color.
But after running for a few minutes you should be able to shut the choke off and it should just sit there and purr.
Try turning the idle all the way down and come up until it will stay running, then tune each low speed until you get the highest idle and then turn the idle back down, Repeat until every adjustment only loweres the RPM's. But you have to look into that tach.
                            How is it connected?

The rest of the tuning you'll have to do on the road.

                            Have a listen to this.

Mine is a little cold blooded now though with the pods. It could use a bump in pilot jet but it still will start on choke no problem.

                                Oh very nice, sounds good!

And follow Stephen's advice, make sure she's not too lean with those pipes on there... you don't want to burn a valve or hole a piston after all that hard work!
