From an aesthetic and ergonomic point of view they won't . Shame on you, putting such hidious bars on a GS!

Aaaaah I missed the rectangular cam ends... so you have the 8 valve engine as opposed to the 4 valve engine.

In Aus yours would be called a GSX rather than a GS, so there are definitely some differences with things like carbs and valve adjustments etc.

I figured the Dutch would love those hideous pullbacks!
I was in Amsterdam last spring, what a gorgeous place! I miss it so much.

Yeah most folks on here refer to them as GSs so I go with that as well. The manual insert I have is for a GSX400 and the Canadian version of the wiring diagram matches my bike perfectly.

Do you know of any other differences between mine and other GSs, off the top of your head? Wondering what other surprises await me!

Apart from the engine and carbs a lot of other things will be fairly common...

              weekend update...

Well, I didn't get a lot done on the bike this weekend, I was over at a buddy's place finding some damage inside his sled engine. Poor guy, piston broke.

I did get my buddy to do some lathe work with my signal light mounts... I dig it!

With the narrowed signals and my soon-to-arrive mini gauges, those handlebars might work... anybody have a longer-than-stock (by about a foot) brake cable for sale?

I'm trying to buy a seat on eBay but the price is getting up there... it ends tonight, if I don't get it I'm mounting my hand-hammered seat pan and will ride that for tuning.

                Go to this eBay store:

                http://stores.ebay.com/coastguard1975

Follow his instructions on one of the single braided brake line items and have him make a custom one for you. I have one on mine.

Good stuff, I've got something like 15000km's on mine now and it's still going well.

Got a little bit done. Rough welding on the seat pan mount and welded on the sissy bar!

Put a 61 degree bend in some heavy wall tubing to roughly match the angle of my front forks.

Notched out the frame - the tubing fit perfectly, slid right into the frame tubing for easy mock-up.

Steel seat pan and sissy bar in place! That sissy bar sits just a bit taller than I am (6'3") !! When I sit and lean againt the bar, i lift my hands up and they are on the grips!!! Should be comfy, minus the fact that it's raw metal...

License plate mount, including the plate light required by law here.

Back of mount. I didn't go for pretty, I use whatever steel I have kicking around. This was a scrap piece left from building the seat pan and some little brackets I had laying around.

Shot from behind showing sissy bar and plate mount. It's starting to smell a little like the 70's in that shop...

Broke out the welder... brake/run light mounted, seat pan mount made and finished off the frame ends at the sissy bar! And yes, before you tell me, I know I'm a crappy welder. Self-taught and I don't get enough practise.
