no idea why these are showing up so small, the file i uploaded is the fullsize version. anyway.....don't make too much fun of the headlight bracket, it's a temporary POS that i hand bent to make the bike street legal while the project gets underway.

When you upload to the site as an attachment it will make it that small. Best bet is to use something like Photobucket to host your pictures.

it's not good to host them on one site and then copy from there to post on here...

where are you storing your pictures intially....

              photobucket
              picasa
              etc....

you can use this to assit you in posting pictures...

As another GK owner, you're going to love the bike. But, I cannot wait to see what you do for paint. ANYTHING would be an improvement!

thanks larry. the couple of test rides i've been on, it shows me what it will be, has some issues though. hopefully i'll get them sorted soon and finally have some power to put down.

I usually love 'different' paint jobs.

trying to picture this on my head and figured i'd get opinions. was looking through hot rod pics, cafe pics, etc for inspiration.....what i have figured out for now is frame suspension and motor will be gloss black. tank, rear cowling, belly pan, front fender, and small front cowling(think buell) will be matte army green. I thought I had decided to do the wheels gloss black as well until I was reminded of the bright red wheels on many restomod hotrods. so what do y'all think? bright red? or gloss black. also if i do bright red there will have to be a red accent somewhere on the motor to bring it together.

i would say matt green with black, but i would say matt or satin black rather than gloss.
i dont think red wheels would look good.

but then i am not really good with colour coordinating, that is why my bike is white and black!

btw agemax, your bike is gorgeous, that's where i realized i should do a belly pan. we'll see, i have much time to decide, and even if i change my mind the wheels are easy enough to pull off and repaint. full strip down an paint won't come until this winter, if i can ever get it running worth a crap i'd like to ride the guts out of it by then so i won't be doing too intensive of work on it.

You realize there is a federal tax credit of 83% if you use a GL model for a cafe conversion, right?

Just kidding, I'm sure what you are doing will be an improvement over how it arrived.
