Yeah decent headers are not easy to come by, I actually picked mine up on Ebay a few years ago. I bought the bike non-running for $400 on craigslist and did a medium restore on it. If you need any help with yours let me know I have tons of parts for your bike.

that is great news! I am getting my carbs set up and my valves adjusted right now. I am doing the work myself. When I come across some more missing bits I will let you know. Thank you very much.

I think I have the front end sorted out. With the 1150 triple clamp in place and the 700 forks inserted the only thing left to mod is the front right outer bearing spacer. This should center the calipers and make for a nice stock looking set up for all those purists out there watching this thing come apart. The anti-dives are going away as also.

Thanks GK, the anti-dives are soon to be paper weights.

Is it safe for me to assume that these are worthless or a bad design and should be removed from any bikes they are equpiied with?

Not really, I kept them on my bike, just to keep it all stock, some guys just don't like them, they can leak, and so on, it's like the air system, it either works for you, or it leaks...LOL

if you change the springs to an updated version (progressive) you don't need the anti dive units, so it has been said....

                    .

                      .

Actually with the emulators installed the anti's are useless, but then again they are useless to begin with...

So here it is all mocked up, surprisingly it was a fairly straight forward swap. The only real modification needed is to have the front wheel spacer cut down to size. The front fender will require some center spacing as well but nothing to difficult. Here is the build list..

1150 complete triple clamp ( 700 clocks are direct bolt on )
1150 front axle and speedo drive
                        1150 steering head cover
                        1150 2.75" front wheel ( swap from the 2.15" on the 700 )
700 joint air valve ( its tight but it will work )
                        700 front forks and calipers
                        700 stock rotors

With the exception of the recession of the key ignition ring the stock look is maintained. The only way to fix that would be to swap out an 1150 lock kit which I may do.

With the suspension improvements and the 1150 wheel swap it should give it a much wider taller stance vs. the previous squatty skinny look.

Pods are great with the pipe, but a PIA to get them right.
