GS 1000 rebuild

I was wondering, before I put the bike back together if there would be a good fit to make the front end wider and taller. I was thinking of giving it a slight rake and stretch

i fitted 20mm wider slab yokes and the forks off an 1100 Katana on my GS1000.
but i am running a smaller 17" front wheel. the wider front does give it a much beefier look on the front.
