Hey guys, I just thought I'd start a log as I attempt to restore this motorcycle to working order. Just a bit of background, I do not currently know how to ride a motorcycle, and this is my first one. I am convinced that I can restore this bike to at least a working order without taking it to a mechanic. I want to "rebuild" it in my garage.

Those are a few pics I took with my iPhone. I should have taken pics as soon as I got home but instead I started working on it for weeks before I remembered to document.

The gas tank was removed when I got the bike, upon closer inspection I noticed rust had gotten a hold under the paint, and the paint was coming up. So I took some aircraft stripper and took it down to the bare metal. Then put 4 coats of primer onto it while I decide what to do next. I think I'm just going to paint it John Deere with a John Deere yellow Legend of Zelda emblem on the side. I'm a nerd and it's pretty easy to stencil out. I plan on getting an air compressor later on down the road, so if it doesn't hold up I will strip it back down and repaint it properly. But for now I have to rattle can it.

As I said before, the carburetors are also off, a few pieces are currently getting re-dipped as I set them down in an old oil pan and didn't realize it. I do have a question about that though, should I rinse the dip off with gas or water?

I'd also like to know "where do the hoses go?" I have to connect this all back up and I'm not sure where they all go. Once I'm at that step I'll post pictures of the ones that I can't find in the Clymer manual.

Anyways, thanks for reading. I'll try to post here with updates as often as I am able to work on it.

First of all quit jacking it up that horrible jack. You are ****ing up the whole exhaust by doing so.

Second of all Barbara Streisand kicks Celine Dionnes ass. Viva Las Vegas!!!
