      Brush with the scotchbrite watching the direction. Brush marks should run around the legs.

      Used Por-15 Glisten Clear. Great stuff. Catalyzed for durability, and designed to stick to raw aluminum.

          Full bike ( covers and forks ) $225 and you supply the clutch and stator cover gaskets. If you think the fork seals are a little old, then thats a good time to replace them also.

          Bet ya didnt expect the old girl to have such hidden beauty...did ya!! Wait till she is all done, You may not want to sell her!!!

            I agree. A gray Scotchbrite pad would give them the nice factory brushed look. Red might be a bit coarse. Lookin' good, Chuck.

                  This afternoon was dedicated to tackling the dash. Got the speedo and tach opened up, Cleaned the faces and both sides of the glass, and got the trip meter rest unfroze.

                  Then got to the worst part...the cracked glaas around the upper tier. Got it all disassembled and cleaned the gauges and clock. Repainted the needles all around.

                  Now what remains is to find a thin sheet of 2MM plexiglass or lexan that will fit in the rubber gasket.

                    Got the lens installed...gotta go back and wipe the inside of the lens again..I see i missed a spot wiping it off. Oh well..you get the idea to compare the before to after.

                    Might try and find some stickers for the turn signal and idiots lights...anyone got a link???

                      lookin good !! BTW, I saw some extra turn signals in the garage, but haven't inspected them yet. Will let you know. I am also bidding on a set of three on ebay right now.

                          There was a guy on Ebay for a long time with stickers for like the 750 dash..which would work here as well..but i havent seen the sale in a long time. He was out of the UK .

                            And now presenting...........

                            Got the fork seals and wipers I was waiting on to start the reassembly.......so heres the progress as of today. Did most of it yesterday and a few hrs this morning. Shes gonna look SWEET when shes done. Those are new EMGO super bike bars ( the ones from my other appearance thread ).

                            I took slices of emery paper and contact cemented it to the inside of the bar holders for some extra grippage so the dont slip.

                            I also had to transplant the wire and sockets from the original into a spare rear tail light housing I had. Soldered all the connections and wrapped the harness back up. That was fun.

                                Thanks Frank....got a ways to go but the foundation is solid again. i was amazed I didnt find any frame danage, dents, scuyffs....nothing. Most damage was cosmetic and to the engine mount and fin...simply incredible.
