Love this thread.
My 6.5 year old daughter like to help turn a wrench with me in the garage. I hope someday we can take on a project like this for her.
It's good that you're taking lots of pictures. Might seem like a hassle at the time, but they'll be golden later. I take pictures of all the stuff I do on the bike. Mostly just for reference for when I need to put something complicated back together. Cheap and easy road map. Also, cupcake tins work well for keeping bolts and nuts organized while you're tearing down a bike.

Unfortunately, last night was the last day of Spring break.
Therefore, I spent the last day with my motorcycle.
I got the brake calipers primed then painted black. They look good for the first time of spray painting.
I thank our family friend for teaching me how to paint the parts the correct way.

Brake Work
I've been real proud of how hard Charmayne has worked at staying on her schoolwork but that hasn't left her any time to keep this up. However, I finally convinced her to reassemble her brakes tonight as it also tied into a school assignment she has. So, we now have her rear brakes together and received some help with installing the seal on her front caliper. I'll order some other parts (sprockets, chain, etc) this next week and hopefully she'll start putting them together about the time school ends for the year.
Installed the inner seal

Glad to hear that her studies are going well, and I can't wait to see the bike when she's finished. Valuable lessons which will last a lifetime. And some of them even have something to do with working on bikes.Comment
