    Jersey Cooley #2

This is my second Wes Cooley out of New Jersey. Made the trip this weekend and just thought I would get a couple pictures up.

Needs a lot of work! However, all the hard to find parts are solid.

Not sure what the future holds for this one.............

Rich, looks like that one got the open truck ride home.

Looks good as far as the first few photos show, but I can see it needs a bit of work on the motor, leaking head gasket?
Might be worth considering a top end refresh while you have it apart, not sure if needed with 31,000 miles but valve seals for sure and not much extra to replace rings and have the valves lapped.

Any parts on this one you can use on "2298" ?

Looks like it will need a new paint job, is that a dent in the tank left side?
I will send you a right side cover, it's not mint but looks OK from a few feet.

It's the middle one on the left.

I know right, quite a coincidence.

For obvious reasons ( I came up with 4)...........let's call this one the "S"nooki.

The last trip to Jersey was just over the Tappan Zee bridge. Nice ride, so I took the trailer.

This one was south Jersey so I went through the city and down the turnpike. No fun with a trailer! A little road grime was not a concern.

The engine will need some seals and I am sure you are correct to suggest the additional work.

The 2298 bike has most of it's parts. I don't think I need any donor part from this one.

This bike supposedly runs, but has been sitting for several years.

Definitely needs paint and yes, the tank has a couple of dents. The fairing, mirror and dash all seem to be in good shape, except a minor scrape on the fairing.

            Side cover!! Thanks Dave.

              Joe,

This bike was listed here: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=216119 for three days without any chatter!!

I held back a bit but then decided to call. After speaking with him briefly, I thought I should go get it.

              Are you thinking Resto-Mod candidate?

Nice score! Had I thought about it, I should have warned you that the turnpike south of exit 9 is a disaster. Sorry...

                  Thanks for posting the bike!

Traffic could have been much worse. Actually didn't do too bad. There is a lot of work going on down the pike. Reminds me of the big dig!

There that 80 up here Joe....probably get it for around 3Gish. Has a 4 into 1 and yellow wires, so it may have some higher performance parts already...I thought I told you about this bike already?? It all there too...mirrors are sweet, etc etc.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
