    Possible GS1100e project - help?!

    Hey guys,

very tempted to purchase a 82 gs1100e (advertised up in queensland)

****ty ebay add claims 14k kms "on the clock" - my suspicion is its 114k in reality. Spoke to the owner and he doesnt know if they are original or what not. He has had the bike apparently 1-2 years with the intention of doing work - however its not running nor has it run the entire time he has it.

    Engine turns over freely.

I just want to know what sort of issues im facing with a bike with this many possible K's?

    Engine rebuild?

Worst case scenario, what do you think it could potentially cost to get this thing strong again and reliable?

will delete this thread after some discussion

    thanks all!

The seller has posted very little information about the bike!

The bike is in Qld and you are in Melbourne. Not a cheap proposition for a non runner.

The photos clearly indicate it not a 14K machine!

    Why is he selling it?

Why hasn't he tried starting it.

The motor's are mostly bullet proof - are there other issues such as transmission?

Buyer be wary? this has been listed before I think?

Yeh i didnt get a good vibe from our phone conversation before.

Looking at around 400$ for transport. I wouldnt pay over 900 for the actual bike.

Yeh i am approaching with caution.

I think ill just keep saving for the 85 gsxr750 being held for me by a nice chap in queensland too. put my money and efforts into bringing that back to glory.
