    1978 GS750e - Big Orange

Gearing back up on my 1978 Suzuki GS750e with 5,000 original miles. It has sat since the 90's so there is some cleaning up to do.

Disclaimer: I am a hobbyist with a lack of knowledge, basic tools, and a manual. I did a minor restoration to a 1985 Honda Nighthawk 450 running project last year and this is my second bike to work on. The 450 needs some love after this guy.

Right now I have the petcock rebuilt, carbs apart and giving them a good cleaning. Building carb back up with new o-rings and boot o-rings.

Short List to get 'er running
    1. Clean airbox
    2. Electronics check (lights come on now, not sure about ignition)
    3. Spark plugs
    4. Choke cable (current one is stuck and won't move)

Long List to get 'er rolling
    1. Carb sync
    2. Adjust valves
    3. Swap headlight and blinkers from 450 (missing headlight and blinkers now)
    4. New brake lines/fluid/pads?
    5. Repack wheel bearings
    6. Fork Oil
    7. Tires
    8. Clutch springs?

    Am I missing anything??

More than a few people here will tell you a rebuilt petcock will fail again. Sometimes quickly. Other than that I love that bike in that color. Good luck with it.

Got the carbs built backup, oil changed, and hooked up fuel for a quick test and looks like my fuel rails are bad. They are the ones without o-rings.

Are these from Z1 a good replacement?

Thanks for the petcock info. I read that on this forum AFTER ordering a rebuilt kit. we'll see how the rebuild does for now.

Do you have a recommendation on a replacement? I'll be ordering some fuel rails and brake lines soon and might add it to my order.
