Also, what is the float height measurement for the 750, naught came up in a search, or is there a downloadable workshop manual?

    Thanks

There is a selection of manuals on Cliff's website.

I need help, put the carbs back on the bike. I rigged up a temporary suspended fuel tank. Put the new coil in, confirmed spark on all four of the cylinders.
Checked I am getting fuel into the bowls via drain bolts. Sorted out a minor wiring problem to get the starter to crank as well.
Unfortunately she just would not start, one cylinder would kind of start running intermittently. Ran a battery almost flat trying.
Not new to motors, mostly with four wheels or 2 strokes so this is really ****ing me off.

What should I be checking next?
        Thanks Scott

If any fuel is getting into the cylinders. May be blocked jets from the cleaning process. Maybe float hieghts are wrong. Maybe weak sparks.

Plugs def wet JAG. Can understand 1 carb blocked, but all four?

Thinking about it now, there was spark but how strong it was is the question.
What would contribute to weak spark?

            Edit: On these bikes.

                  Thanks GSX1000E!

I would say wiring, I am going to put the complete loom on the bench and work through it.

Also need to sort out the brakes and take it out for a bit of road testing.
Oil leak on the starter side of the motor when she runs that needs a look at.

Can you believe that every bleed nipple has been snapped off with the thread left in the calipers!
Don't have a left hand drill bit or left hand thread self tapper so will have to wait until after Xmas to do some braking.

Looking for a replacement fuel tap, the vacuum tap has been butchered, is there a normal on/off tap from another bike that fits the GS tank?

I lied, the front left hand bleed nipple is intact

Any recommendations on the fuel tap anybody, please......

This Ebay seller usually has the best deals on the new replacement petcocks: http://stores.ebay.com/GEORGEFIXS-MO...E-PARTS?_rdc=1

                          Thanks GSX1100E.

I would really prefer an on/off/reserve tap for this bike.
All my TZR's have vacuum taps and they can be a PIA sometimes.

Thought somebody here might have matched a tap up from another bike.

Starting to enjoy working on this bike, the project looked intimidating in the beginning but there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel!

Your bike has a lever-less petcock? 1980 model?

'81 but it is not complete so not sure exactly how it should look.

PO had bypassed it somehow and had an inline tap fitted.

Can you post pictures of where it mounts to the tank and any damage that might have been done that would prevent you from simply installing a new one and worrying about something else instead?
