I used the needle method to do the bench sync, is there a better way? and does anyone know the point of putting this rubber plug thing into the port for the pilot jet?

If you don't use it, you'll have a tendency to run very rich.

Ok GS geniuses so I can't get this thing to stay running longer than 30 seconds and has an extremely high idle here's a list of **** I have already done. I can't get it to crank over without cheater fluid (starting fluid). Small spray on the pods and it cranks right up but idles high and dies after about 30 seconds or as soon as I touch the throttle. And I'm using the choke to start. Idle screw is completely unscrewed (because of high idling).

1 Cleaned carbs completely
2 installed dynajet carb kit stage 3 for pods and exhaust
3 installed new plugs
4 installed pods
5 checked for good spark
6 bench synced carbs (I can't sync any more until it's running right?)
7 checked fuel and using clean gas

Any help would be really appreciated. thanks guys.

Jake,A list:
Make sure you have the 1-4 and 2-3 wires correct to the coils.

Make sure you have good voltage to the coils.(over 11:00V with just key on).
Make sure pods are installed, that will make things difficult otherwise.
All four plugs sparking to frame?


Gas to carbs (on prime)
See if a little little bit of starting fluid will help if.the battery is down; does it crank fast?.
I'm on the road and only have a little time.
