As for the 6 sigma kit, i was fairly impressed, they sent an upsized pilot jet, two different sizes of main jet, 3 shims for each carb needle and said that i should start with 2 unless i do the muffler's which i mentioned i was considering when i emailed them my specs, and the instruction manual and tuning guide that came with was pretty decent and thorough, in my opinion. They also sent two sizes of drill bits and instructions on what to do with them to further increase performance via getting the carb piston to snap open more quickly, but that they didn't recommend it on the street (race only/likely to negatively affect part throttle driving, etc).

I have not run it yet, spark plugs are on their way and frankly i don't know if the wiring to make spark is intact, and I'm betting one of the coils will need to go in the round file due to a substantial crack in the plastic body. I would like to try and start it up in the next week or so, however.

That coil will likely work for test purposes anyway, I have had a few cracked ones that worked, one only worked until it got hot, but good enough to try the engine out..

"There doesn't appear to be a headlight relay. Suffice to say I'm going to need one, the 14 or 16 gauge stock stuff will not like the current it will have to carry in its current configuration"
I've built several choppers and customs from scratch, and I'm a minimalist wherever possible. I have never used a headlight relay. I know others like me. It's never been a problem.

Going from one headlight to two would mean doubling the current being drawn the same wire. That's a no-no in my opinion. I build safe, reliable electrical systems because i can and i like the peace of mind, that's all.

Well, i finally got it started. It only runs with the choke on and if you so much as touch the throttle, it dies.
Sadly, right after i got it running, i got deathly ill for two weeks, which completely screwed up all kinds of stuff- now I'm leaving in 4 days to drive from Oregon to Alaska. On the bright side, I'll have room in the trailer to take it with, so I'll have to keep you guys posted as i get more work done in it.
