The caliper were powder coated by a friend who has a oven in his garage.. LOL. Brakes have not work like this in years.. new rebuild kits in everything..

Well i was going to try and start it up today. I took the petcock off the tank to check it for debris. Inside of the tank is very clean and the screen was spotless. I took the back off of the pump to check the diaphragm and it is as hard as a rock. i have been looking for a new diaphragm but forund nothing that looks close to my petcock. mine has a drain screw on the front side so i don't know if the diaphragms are different from the ones that don't have this drain screw. i ordered on on line from a different petcock that looks the same.. hope it fits..

Wow. You certainly do something right when you do it.

well, I started it up yesterday. even with rebuilding the carbs it will not idle under 2K just like before. I spent two days re cleaning, jetting, adjusting things, changing things. I did a compression test all are even across the board. did a leak test on the boots.. nothing leaking. timing is on point. new timing chain, valve job. pistons, valves are set at 5, the cams call for 4 to 6. i guess its just time to get new carbs.

So after a text chat with philosopheriam, he gave me a few ideas to look at on the carbs. Turns out that one choke fork on the linkage was bent and when it closed all the way it held the other 3 open still about an 1/8th on an inch. runs much better and need to be synced. got the tank stripped and re did the old bondo that was peeling up. got everything ready for paint.
