You can kinda see the chop job on the current frame. Doesn't look too hateful until you get close to it haha, if your into that sort of thing.

82 GS850 rebuild
Hi all, new to the site but I've been poking around for info for awhile. I just traded a non running '80 GN400 for an '82 GS850 in similar condition, engine off the frame all the carbs cleaned and in a box etc. She's a long way from being ride able. One of the main problems I have with the bike is that the frame has been molested, owner before the fellow I traded with had chopped off the rear suspension and turned it into a bobber. Not a great design in that you have to cut your work back off to remove the wheel for tire changes and such I have already bought a Suzuki shop manual good through '83 with all the supplements on ebay and another frame from an '80 that hasn't been messed with. I found a Suzuki full engine gasket and seal kit on ebay, never used but they are still gaskets from the '80s, does anyone have any input as to whether they would be safe to use or should I just go to z1 or suzukipartshouse and piece together what I need?
