    1982 GS1100 Fork Identification -- Help!

The fork caps on my 1982 GS1100 don't match the manual. The manual shows caps that extend above the fork tube with an air valve. Mine are recessed inside the tube with an air valve. Can anyone help me identify what I have and tell me how to remove the caps? Thank you!

Do us a favor first and identify your location (should be mandatory when signing up).

Different parts of the world had different fittings, so we need to know where you are.

Also, is that an 1100E or an 1100G?
