cadmium plating?

Regular cadmium is a grey color. If you want the yellow color, you will need to specify cadmium chromate. I would go yellow zinc next time.

BTW, cadmium is pretty much nonexistent in the US other than for aviation parts. Zinc has been the standard for quite some time now because cadmium is dangerous if mishandled.Ed
