    cadmium plating?

Does anyone here do cadmium plating or can recommend a business? I've got an old CB400F that I'm restoring that needs a handful of parts replated in a yellow/gold hue.

    thanks, Pat

Regular cadmium is a grey color. If you want the yellow color, you will need to specify cadmium chromate. I would go yellow zinc next time.

Yellow colored zinc plating comes from chromate as well.

BTW, cadmium is pretty much nonexistent in the US other than for aviation parts. Zinc has been the standard for quite some time now because cadmium is dangerous if mishandled.

Can anyone suggest a plating company that they've used with good results?
