Play the ball where it lays, I have no driveway, garage etc.. Harbor freight porta garage and recycled pallets works for me, plus free natural lighting!! Just hope it holds up to the winds we get sometimes, now that my workspace is nearly complete and I know the motor seems ok I shall now start tearing it apart, I won't be using some of my parts and will be looking for some parts ( not sure what yet but I do like to barter)

After doing some research and hearing some others concerns about converting to a hardtail, that will not be happening and in fact alot of my original plans have changed, gonna listen to the bike and see what it wants.. Stay tuned!

That looks like an "L" model tank.

Thanks, I'll look into that, probably won't be using it, but of rust and bondo and the fact that it doesn't fit makes me look elsewhere

More awesome craftsmanship to fix lol

Heres an easy way to fix that. I would wait until I find the seat I want to use and measure to fit it.

That's what I had in mind but I didn't know the loops were being sold on ebay, beats tracking down a bender!!, thanks oldman!

Got a powdercoat estimate as well, $300 for frame, wheels, swingarm, lower fork tubes, some engine parts etc etc blah blah... I've moved away from the dirty rat bike ideas, I'll save that for another time. I want this one light fast and sexy. Satin black with some copper.. Also gonna be making my own seat

Hi all, been a bit busy I got the bike back together and running again, i found several issues before it's back on the road
So I will be looking for some parts as well as getting rid of some factory parts.

First I will need to find a stator and stator cover, front master cylinder and all New Brake lines, air filter or pods, still haven't decided yet, my factory box needs love, rubber has hardened, foam has deteriorated etc.. Also need a rear disc or resurface mine, there's so much to list I know that I'm forgetting alot!!

Will know My budget in the coming weeks but I think I'll have around $1000, obviously need stuff to make it go again before I tear her back down and treat her with love.. Not hacking the crap outta it by the way, basically wanna ride it snot outta it before dumping gobs into useless ****..

Again, I definitely would like to hear others input and how realistic is this anyways?

Budget? BUDGET? What is this thing you call a budget? Is that some sort of nieve, artificial, pie-in-the-sky estimate of how much it will take to get your GS back to a reliable condition and on the road?

                    BWAHAHAHA! I like you - you're funny.
