Found the rear airbox at the local bone yard..paid 25 bucks. Got it cleaned up and painted. Then got the wires ran from the Duanage Hodna R/R and threw the meter at it to see where the charging was at. Settled in at 14.61 at 5000 RPMs. So, as of now, the bike is 100% on her own wire harness and all works as it should. I even plugged in the turn signal buzzer thing under the tank.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

Bone yard up in Oklahoma City had the rear airbox section I was needing. Paid 25 bucks and got it repainted already. Set the chain guard in place and function checked everything one more time.

Youtube link of bike starting off the actual starter button and of the ever so annoying turn signal reminder buzzer....which will stay functioning as it was designed.

Holy cow, that buzzer is annoyingly cool. Never knew the old GSs had that.
Chuck, nice work on this. I've been quietly following along.sigpic

Man, that turn signal buzzer is annoying. I wanted to scream after just watching the video..lol! I would unplug that thing in a heart beat, satisfied that it works, but glad to never hear it again.
I, too, used to think people weren't interested by the number of comments, Chuck, but soon learned many are watching, enjoying, and looking forward to progress. You're moving at a pace that keeps it interesting.1979 GS1000S,

UPS says i got a package from Parts Outlaw due on Tuesday. Sprockets and chain should be around sometime next week too or early the following week. Put the reflectors on the tail cowl and mounted it this AM. Hot Home depot for the screws for the cam end covers and in stalled those too. Im getting bored without something to do other than WAIT!!! Tonight was getting the tank assembled and doing the side covers. New emblems and now its starting to take shape nicely. Got an email saying the sprockets and chain have shipped so maybe this weekend i can take it around the block at least. Tires are not road worthy but a little slow speed run around the block should be survivable

I still need a few things other than new tires though. I need the speed nuts that hold the seat trim to the pan and new airbox to carb boots. Little bit out of each check and it moves at a decent pace.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
