This one has a decent (but banged up) slip on, has been rejetted and has dual oval K&Ns. I'm going to replace the beat up slip on with a Delkevic.

The second gen Busa shock is the ticket, and maybe $40 on ebay.

I've heard the GSXR 750 shock is the better fit for 1st Gens, since it only raises the rear 1/2" vs the 1" rise the Busa shock makes.

Could be, I used adjustable lowering links that cost more than the shock...

I'm inclined to try the GSXR shock. 1/2" is livable.

Carbs coming off this weekend ... hoping to have it running on all cylinders by Sunday.

It's ALIVE (though I think it needs a valve adjustment or has a loose exhaust stud or two)! Runs super nice for a bike with 50K on the clock, just a bit noisy on the top end.

Gotta find the source of the ticking, which is present under power at speed. Might be tight valves? Timing chain?

Is it random in pattern? I remember a discussion of cam walk or end play on this forum for GS'es.

Nope. It was just checked when I adjusted the chain.

Hmmmn ... I haven't heard of that with the Bandit motor.

Not bad, but wondering about the beaded cabby seat?
PS: On ye olde V8 a tapping sound is usually a tappet.
Those cam followers are EZ to adjust with just a wrench and feeler gauge.

If you haven't used one of those beaded seat covers, you're missing out. They are phenomenal on long rides.
