Today i did find most of loose bolts n nuts and put them in place. Adjusted the new chain, put on chainguard. Put the clutchwire in place. Polished exhaust and other bits like gearlever. And some other things too. A good day 😉👍279D5E50-C7BF-4778-96A3-C21B9FB50125.jpg

One of the few things I wanna modify is the tail light. It just sticks out too much and destroys the flow of the hump. So i made a plexiglas and bended it to shape with heat, then painted it red with tailglas paint. I made some space in the hump for fitting the led. This was just the first test with brakelight function. There will be a second led light under to fill up that plate and give a very noticable taillight for the cars behind me. Not just for show but a bit of safety.

Did a little work on it today, lots of small bits n pieces and assembly. And a bit of sanding down the engine covers, forks, then polished them up a bit.

If you have 1500/2000/3000 grit available, so much the better
Kenny, I see a potential problem. Having those shiny bits next to tarnished bits may drive you mad!Last edited by Big T; 01-26-2020, 08:04 PM.1978 GS 1000 (since new)

pulled these out today. Will pull them apart and give them a good cleanup in the ultrasonic cleaner this weekend.

Badges??
Yeah, good luck with that, especially as the ones for the 550 are smaller than the big bikes.
Are yours dented/scuffed?
Carbs - follow the tutorial on Basscliffs site. Except ultrasonic instead of dipLast edited by Big T; 01-29-2020, 04:20 PM.1978 GS 1000 (since new)
