I've been on the 630 chain gang today and getting exhausted, excuse the pun . DID 630 O ring and Sito exhaust silencers. Seat cover on it's way and seat pan on the bench getting ready to paint.

The front tyre/tire size is 100/90-19, never had a problem with that size in the last 21 years of riding a big GS.Last edited by uk gs nut; 02-26-2020, 12:43 PM.My bikes 79 GS1000 1085 checked and approved by stator the GSR mascot :eagerness: and 77 GS750 with 850 top end, GS850g, and my eldest sons 78 GS550, youngest sons GS125. That is indeed a nice looking bike. Feels good to see it coming together, I'm sure. I like the exhaust a lot. Looks almost factory. Nice color choices, too. Anxious to see it with the seat.1979 GS1000S,

Finally got the seat finished, I think I've done better in the past, a few small bumps in the cover. Hope it smoothes out over time. Put some fuel in the tank and the tap/petcock leaked. Back to the parts stache for another one. New AGM battery fitted and it started first try, sounds good. Next step is to check wheel alignment and fit chain guard. Then off to get it MOT tested for roadworthy.
My home built airbox cover doesn't look out of place, stainless steel so no rust.

Really nice! Makes me want to hurry up and get mine back together.Ron
When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

Today I took the bike for a ride to get MOT, it passed with no issues. It goes like a scalded cat, pulls very clean and strong. 20 mile round trip and nothing fell off or come loose. Washing off the road salt when it cooled off took an hour. I checked the plugs and there all a good even colour, so wont touch the carb settings. So registration paperwork the next hurdle. My bikes 79 GS1000 1085 checked and approved by stator the GSR mascot :eagerness: and 77 GS750 with 850 top end, GS850g, and my eldest sons 78 GS550, youngest sons GS125.
