When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

Its for a buddies dad...total surprise. His dads a great guy that did things right. Got rid of all the toys to raise his family and run his HVAC business. He retired now and me and his kid conspired to do this build to surprise Roy. Im not charging him a penny. Just gonna enjoy the shocked look on his face when we hand him the key and tell him its his.Last edited by chuck hahn; 07-25-2020, 07:41 PM.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

Unless its a nostalgia thing or you just have funny money to spend hiring someone to do what i did makes no sense cost wise...theres 2700 plus just in parts to fix this bike. Add that to another 5 grand or so for hours doesnt make sense at all.
SOME people focus on the " what can i make off it"? aspect. Im about lets save it and make a good guy really happy. Roy had a new one in 78 and has wanted another ever since. Next Saturday is his day.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

The joy of getting something nostalgic is priceless. And I hope he is young enough he gets to really enjoy it. Its commendable when someone gives something up for family/friends but I can see some people have that sad memories after something. Really hope he enjoys it.
I find it so sad that so many of these bikes are just rotting away somewhere. Its cool to see some brought back to life.GS1000G 1981
