Today was get the sending unit in the tank, put that , what i assume is a honda master cylinder, on and bled the front brakes, put new pads in the rar caliper and bled those, went and hot speed nuts to put the seat trim on, and painted the top bridge so i have the holes needed to mount the handlebar cushion pad. Its getting closer.

EDIT.... Installed the seat grab rail and the tool kit bracket inside the glove box.

Hi Chuck, Limeex2 here. long time no GS or GS forum for me. Life, work, retirement got the best of my time and attitude. The bike looks great!, keeping with the GS spirit. I'll start back up this winter instead of heading somewhere warm. I have plenty of GS's to work with and am attempting to get my old 1980 GS1000S back from a friend I sold it to 30+ years ago. Being retired with no projects i"m capable of doing is melting my already soggy mind. I need a fix.

I expect the bike would look nice finished off with a genuine 79 red and white 1000s fairing... This is one I have in the shed as a spare, never been re-painted. I know these are costing around several internal organs and your 1st borne at the moment...

Little update. No i havent thrown in the towel yet. Got some OEM grips ordered and still need to swap out the rear rotor. Also i need to measure the rise and pullback of the blue Cooleys bars so i can find something close. Ive been eyeballing the EURO STYLE bars from Z1. Anyway i just need to find a break in between customer work to get back into her... as if ill be catching a break anytime soon. NOT!!

Chuck, sometimes you just gotta say, screw it. I'm gonna work on my own stuff for a day or two. That's the way it was when I was painting bikes for a living. I could work 12 hour days 7 days a week and still feel like I was neglecting my clients. Take some time for yourself, and remember why you enjoy working on bikes to begin with. You'll thank yourself, and you'll get the rest of us off your back for progress reports on a bike we're all dying to see finished.

Sorry to be negative, that emblem is smaller than the 90mm ones on 1000 motors.

If it is i will center it and paint black around it. And if i find another thats 90mm ill swap it out at that point.
